Linkin Park have released a previously unknown song featuring the late vocalist Chester Bennington.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of Linkin Park’s second album, Meteora, which went seven times platinum, the band released a never-before-seen song featuring the late frontman Chester Bennington.

Surviving members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, Joe Hahn and Dave “Phoenix” Farrell previously announced the release of the song “Lost”, which was released on February 10.

The song will also be featured on Linkin Park’s “Meteora” anniversary release on April 7th.

Shinoda, the band’s co-founder in 1996, tweeted that rediscovering the song “was like finding a favorite photo you forgot to take, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.”

Bennington, known for his piercing vocals that helped the rock rap group become one of the most commercially successful bands of the 2000s, was found dead in his Los Angeles home in 2017. He was 41 years old.

Bennington’s death was an absolute devastation for the other members of the band.

Shinoda said he was “shocked and saddened”.

“Chester Bennington was an artist of extraordinary talent and charisma, as well as a man with a huge heart and caring soul. Our thoughts and prayers are with his beautiful family, his bandmates and his many friends.” – Warner Bros. CEO records. and Chairman Cameron Stang said in a statement.

The Grammy-winning band sold over 10 million copies of their 2000 debut album Hybrid Theory, which included the mega-hit and anthem “In the End”. They sold another 6 million with the 2003 multi-platinum Meteora. Both albums explored feelings of frustration and rage.
