Lincoln, Lone Star and Lake View win CREST Awards

This is the first year Lincoln High School and Lake View High School have received the award, and the second year in a row Lone Star High School.

SAN ANGELO, Texas. ISD San ​​Angelo announced that the counseling departments of Lincoln High School, Lone Star High School, and Lake View High School were given the special honor of being awarded the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Student in Texas (CREST) ​​award for excellence in counseling.

According to a SAISD press release, this is the first year that Lincoln High School and Lake View High School have received the award, and the second year in a row for Lone Star High School.

In 2005, the Texas School Counselors Association launched the CREST program to recognize schools with outstanding counseling programs. To receive the CREST award, schools must “demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives and achievements of students in the academic, career, and personal social areas. CREST is committed to helping consultants evaluate their advisory programs and promote their programs to stakeholders in their districts. , demonstrate the effectiveness of their guidance and counseling programs through empirical means, and implement Texas and country models for school counseling programs.

“As we have developed our comprehensive counseling program over the past five years to align with the needs of our campuses, I am very proud of the work done by counselors across the county,” said SAISD Counseling and Evaluation Director Rebecca Cline. “Their dedication to students, families and staff is impeccable. Our goal is to use the CREST award as the district standard for SAISD programs and campus.”
