Lewisville International Office of Safety Issues Arrest of High School Football Coach

The assistant football coach was placed on administrative leave and subsequently submitted his resignation, the county said.

LEWISVILLE, Texas. The Lewisville Safety Division released a statement about a recently arrested former assistant football coach hired by the county.

Former Marcus High School teacher/coach Tim Morrison was placed on administrative leave when the district became aware of his arrest, and Morrison subsequently submitted his resignation last week, the district said in an emailed statement.

“This is a legal matter outside of his role in our district, and we have no indication that the circumstances of his arrest involved students,” the district said.

Morrison has been with the county since April 2018.

In an email sent to the families of Marcus High School by Principal Will Skelton, he informed them of his arrest and subsequent administrative leave and resignation.

“Coach Morrison has not returned to campus since he was sent on leave, and we have no indication that the situation around his arrest is related to Marcus’s students,” Skelton said. “It would be fine if our families and students would ask questions, but since this is a legal matter outside of his jurisdiction in our district, we don’t have specific details to share.”

Skelton also said the school will continue to focus on student support despite the fact that they may experience Morrison’s departure.

This is an evolving story, stay tuned.
