Lehigh Acres man found guilty of crimes against the elderly

LEE COUNTY, Florida. A Lehigh Akers man was found guilty of false imprisonment with a firearm and aggravated assault on a man 65 years of age or older.

On October 1, 2022, Samuel Clarence Redd entered a home where he tied up a man with electrical cords and duct tape.

Redd then put the residents on the ground, held a gun to their heads, and threatened to shoot them if they moved.

After a couple of hours, the victims were able to escape and leave the house. They called law enforcement, and when the officers answered, Redd was home alone.

After the police searched the house, they found a gun hidden in the doorway, as well as duct tape and electrical cords in the trash.
