King Addies and Bass Odyssey made history in Guyana

GEORGETOWN, Guyana “King Addies vs Bass Odyssey has been a roadblock anywhere in the world for decades, but they draw even more crowds when they get billed for a regular dance.

Proven in Guyana OldSkool Party Retrospective This past weekend, 01/07/23 at Georgetown’s largest arena, Guyana’s National Stadium, a pair of iconic sound systems, along with Barbados Freedom Sound, was hosted by Majah Hype and attracted over 13,000 attendees for an exciting day trip down Memory Lane.

King Addies and Bass Odyssey made history in GuyanaOne half of the Golden Smile Family promo team, Andre Kellman, said, “This was our 16th production of Flashback, and the biggest so far!”

He further added: “The weather called for rain, but that didn’t stop the extras – they came out with umbrellas, and King Addies and Bass Odyssey brought even more than Guyana expected.”

King Addies and Bass Odyssey made history in GuyanaAccording to Kellman, “The highlight of the event came at the very end of the night when the fans asked Addies’ KingPin to play another round. Delingy then offered the fans a special rate of fire, song after song, 45 juggling. For the first time in Guyana, KingPin and Damian Delinji played an uninterrupted circle of songs in the same riddims and together the BUS dance.

According to Kellman, “both left their mark in Guyana – it was a moment of complete joy – and an unforgettable sight.”

Certainly a good start 40th Anniversary of King Addis year, their next official celebration is scheduled for March 25 in Antigua.
