Kim Kardashian met with the San Francisco MP over a fish dinner in Los Angeles to discuss criminal justice reforms.

San Francisco State Assemblyman Matt Haney joined a group of attorneys, lawmakers and ex-convicts to speak with the reality TV star about criminal justice reform on Wednesday night.

Haney said they discussed his new law, AB 1226, introduced Thursday, which would put imprisoned parents in prisons next to their families so they can better support their children.

“She was very sweet and very accommodating and she is deeply committed to this job,” Haney said. “It’s become a cause she stands for and she’s very effective as a defender.”

Haney’s sister, Erin Haney, is director of national policy at the REFORM Alliance and has worked with the reality TV star for more than five years in her quest to become a lawyer and reform the criminal justice system.

Haney said much of the conversation at Wednesday’s fish dinner revolved around ways to prevent people on probation from being sent back to jail for misdemeanors, as was the case with rapper Meek Mill, who co-chairs the REFORM Alliance and was convicted. to two to four years in prison for off-road cycling without a helmet while on parole in 2019.
