HARRIS COUNTY, Texas. On Tuesday, a K-9 officer helped catch two home invasion suspects, the Harris County 4th District Constable said.

Authorities said three men broke into a house on Tucumcari Drive in Ponderosa Forest and demanded money from a woman who was inside with her children.

They said the woman was hiding in the bedroom with her three children when the suspects broke in and started attacking her. The woman and children somehow managed to escape from the house.

When the deputies got home, they said they had set up a perimeter to try and find the suspects. K-9 Rambo managed to find two of the three suspects, officials said.

Roberto Loredo, 27, and Jorge Saker Vanegas, 27, were arrested at the scene, according to Precinct 4 officials.

Authorities said they also found cocaine in the vehicle in which the perpetrators appeared. Vanegas was out on bail on a drunk driving charge and Loredo on a burglary charge, officials said.

Loredo was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a dog bite. After his release, he was placed in the Harris County Jail.

Vanegas was charged with burglary with intent to commit aggravated assault, evasion, possession of a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance, officials said.

He appeared in probable cause court early Thursday morning and the judge set his total bail at $105,000.

“It is alleged that Mr. Vanegas admitted to having traveled to the site and admitted to knowing the applicant’s ex-husband because he had previous drug dealings,” the judge read aloud during the hearing.

Investigators said Vanegas is from Colombia but has been living in Houston for the past two years.

Investigators said they are working to identify and find a third suspect involved in the home invasion.
