Jury reaches verdict in Alex Murdo case

A jury found disbarred lawyer Alex Murdo guilty of killing his wife Maggie and son Paul.

The verdict was delivered less than three hours after the start of the meeting.

In addition, he was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon while committing a violent crime.

CNN noted that prosecutors indicated they would go to jail for life without the possibility of parole and spare him the death penalty.

It is noteworthy that, according to the publication, Murdo was charged with 99 different charges related to alleged financial crimes.

“We believe we have shown conclusively that (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division) has failed to investigate this case,” Murdo’s lawyer Jim Griffin said ahead of sentencing.

He added: “And if they had done the job properly, Alex would have been excluded from this circle of (suspects) a year or two ago.”

In front of the courthouse, Griffin told Fox News, “Obviously we’re disappointed, but until he’s sentenced we have no further comment.”
