Joe Rogan says Brian Stelter is ‘basically a prostitute’ for hosting panel in Davos

Joe Rogan criticized fired CNN anchor Brian Stelter, calling him a “prostitute” for hosting a disinformation panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos last month.

Stelter, who was fired last year from his longtime job as host of CNN’s Trusted Sources, showed up in a Swiss ski town where the world’s elite gather every year.

He hosted a panel called “The Clear and Present Danger of Disinformation” that included New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger, European Commission Vice President Vera Yurova, Internews CEO Jeanne Burgaud, and Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass).

“He is with the evil lizard people who are trying to control the world. They’re his bosses,” Rogan raged on Monday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, which featured Twitter Files journalist Matt Taibbi.

“They want everyone to eat bugs and you have nothing and be happy. He’s working for fucking people now because he’s essentially a prostitute,” Rogan added.

Taibbi joked that Stelter looked “very comfortable” at the Davos panel.

“He looked as happy as ever,” Taibbi said.

“He is probably very excited to be able to work again in any way, in any form,” Rogan replied. “You know, and he’s not the kind of guy who should really be in front of the camera, right? He should be a journalist, but even in this he is not strong. So what he is doing now is to contain the evil leaders of the world who want to introduce hate speech policies across the country and, as you know, a centralized digital currency.”

Taibbi and Rogan criticized Stelter for not fighting back when Yurova said the U.S. would “soon” pass laws to regulate “illegal hate speech”. Rogan said Stelter had to wonder how the panellists defined the term.

Upon receiving the comment, Stelter told The Post that Rogan “got it all wrong again.”

“The World Economic Forum did not ‘hire’ me to ‘work’ in Davos. I went there with my own money to write about the conference. If he wants to tell his listeners the truth, he can call me,” Stelter said in a statement.

Rogan repeatedly criticized Stelter during his appearance on CNN. The podcast host called Stelter “so weird” last April, lambasting the leftist network for the failure of its CNN+ streaming service, which was shut down just a month after launch.

Stelter, who has become known for his militant stance towards conservative views and Republican lawmakers, was “caught off guard” by his firing, a source told The Post last August.

Stelter has kept a low profile since being fired from CNN. In addition to his Davos talk, Stelter received a fellowship at Harvard University’s Kennedy School, joining the Shorenstein Center for Media, Politics, and Public Policy.

The scholarship description stated that Stelter would take on some posting duties “on the threats to democracy and the range of potential responses from the media.”
