JFK Chief Arrives at JFK Boulevard – Northeast News


ALDIN – After months of planning and several hours of painstaking physical work, on Tuesday, January 17, a huge bust of the late President John F. Kennedy, created by the famous sculptor David Adix, was erected on the prepared site on John F. Kennedy Boulevard on Aldeen Bender Road. a growing community arts initiative by the East Aldine Arts Council.

The council is part of the administrative district of East Aldin.

Adix, 95, was there on Tuesday to see the installation of his massive creation. His notable giant sculptures include a head-to-toe statue of Sam Houston on Interstate 45, an abstract image of a cellist in downtown Houston, and busts of other presidents seated together, nicknamed “Mountain Peak”. on Interstate 10 downtown.

There is still a lot of work to be done on the JFK grounds in preparation for the official debut of the statue in a few weeks. The date will be announced in advance.

But now JFK is finally “on JFK,” ready to attract and inspire audiences from the area, travelers to and from the Bush Intercontinental Airport, and more.
