Jerry Nadler doesn’t have an office in New York in the new district – a few months after the election

He doesn’t move to a luxury office on the East Side or anywhere else.

Rep. Jerry Nadler has yet to open an office in his newly redrawn 12th congressional district, more than four months after he defeated his rival, Rep. Carolyn Maloney, in an unsuccessful August primary.

The only public office in the Big Apple on Nadler’s campaign website is 201 Varik Street in Greenwich Village. The landmark art deco building was once Nadler’s grounds when he represented the 10th district, but is now represented by fellow Rep. Dan Goldman.

Nadler’s new neighborhood spans Midtown, the Upper East Side, and the Upper West Side, and is bordered by Union Square, just north of his Varik Street office. A map on Nadler’s Congressional website shows a pin where his office is located, far beyond the outlines of his current county.

“Jerry hasn’t fully represented his district for 15 or 20 years. He just gets through it until he dies,” said Mike Zumbluskas, his Republican challenger in the 2022 election. “He’s been there too long, he’s too arrogant, and that’s why he doesn’t move his office to a new area.”

Nadler’s no-show raises important questions about how the longtime liberal will be able to serve the people he represents.

“Voter service is one of the most important roles a member of Congress has, and NY-12 residents deserve an affordable office in our district,” said a person close to former Rep. Maloney. “It’s disappointing that four months after the first congressman, Nadler is still not offering services to the founders in NY-12.”

It is also unclear if Nadler provides any services from the Varik Street office.

Numerous calls to the office went unanswered, and visits to his sixth-floor office are by appointment only, a building security guard said when The Post stopped by.

On his website, Nadler offers the public the option to email him, but the service is only open to those who can provide the old district zip code and not the new one: “If you are not a resident of the 10th congressional district, you will be redirected to a website that will direct you to where you can find your representative and contact them,” the website says.

A spokesperson for Nadler did not respond to multiple requests from The Post for comment.
