Nearly 40-year-old Japanese dessert chain Uncle Tetsu is bringing its famed fluffy cheesecakes to San Diego.
Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake was founded in 1985 in Hakata, Japan by Tetsushi Mizokami. Since its inception, fluffy, cloud-like Japanese cheesecakes have become a global phenomenon. The popular dessert combines the richness of American cheesecakes with the lightness of French soufflés. Uncle Tetsu now has nearly 100 locations around Japan, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Australia, Canada, and the United States.
Uncle Tetsu aims to open by year’s end at 4609 Convoy Street in San Diego’s Kearny Mesa. For more information, visit uncletetsu-us.com.
