“It’s so special” | Houston’s hometown is part of the Moulin Rouge! Music National Tour

HOUSTON – She grew up in the Houston area and Jennifer Wolfe is back on the Moulin Rouge National Tour! Musical.

“This is the first time I’ve played in Houston as a professional actor,” Woolf shared. “As soon as I graduated from college, I left Texas and just started traveling and working. And I never had a chance to come back here to tour.”

She called the opportunity to bring the Moulin Rouge! to her hometown community “so special”.

“I’m honored to share this with my community and my friends, my old dance community and my family all come and watch,” Woolf said. “You can’t even describe the feeling of how proud I am.”

She started dancing at the age of 3 while growing up in Missouri City. In high school, she participated in the practice team, and then continued to dance in college.

“I just spent my whole life training to be a pro and it never stops,” Wolfe said. “After you become a pro, you still have to train, right? I mean we should take vocal lessons, acting lessons and dance lessons and meet new choreographers. your journey continues. You just keep exploring, you keep training and just learning from new people.”

All these trainings were invaluable for participating in the Moulin Rouge! an ensemble in which Wolfe is also sometimes assigned to fill in for Nini.

“My job is to do shows eight times a week,” she said.

Woolf shared that sometimes she likes to take a step back when she’s on stage to soak up the details of everyone’s sets and costumes.

“You’d be so surprised by the new things you learn every night, even as someone who’s been on the show 350 times,” she said.

Moulin rouge! will end on March 12 at the Houston Hobby Center. Tickets can be purchased here.
