ISD Grapevine-Colleyville Names Only Finalist for Superintendent Position

GRAPEVINE, Texas. The Grapevine-Colleyville Public Health Division selected a single finalist for the position of superintendent, and the county didn’t have to look far.

On Monday, the district announced that the board of trustees voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Brad Schnauz as the school’s next principal.

Schnautz currently serves as interim county superintendent following the retirement of Dr. Robin Ryan in January. Ryan announced his retirement in September 2022.

Schnautz first joined the district in 2017 as Deputy Superintendent.

“I have been honored to serve this district for nearly six years now and to have the opportunity to play my part in helping GCISD realize achievements and accomplishments throughout our organization,” Schnautz said in a statement. “…I am happy and excited to lead our county to continued success in the future.”

According to the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Schnautz has over 20 years of experience in education and has previously worked as a teacher and coach in Bryan, Conroe and Magnolia School Districts. He also became principal of Magnolia ISD High School in the Houston area.

Schnauz now has to wait 21 days before being officially named the new superintendent under state law.
