Investigators believe the murder suspects’ tattoos may have helped them determine the motive for the shooting.

Aaron Grant, a former Deputy Constable for the 4th Harris County, was arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting last month.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas. The former Deputy Constable of Harris County 4 was arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting last month.

According to court documents, Aaron Grant shot and killed Jesse Metzger as he was riding his motorcycle on North Highway. According to investigators, the shooting occurred just after midnight on January 27.

Authorities said Metzger, 32, had just left a nearby Bombshells store when he called his friends and told them he was being followed by a white jeep and was shot to death. It was then that they informed the authorities that the call had been disconnected.

Investigators said Metzger’s friends went looking for him and found him in the Home Depot parking lot on Cypresswood on I-45. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

After examining CCTV footage and other evidence, Grant, 36, was arrested over the weekend and charged with murder. On Tuesday, he appeared in court for the first time.

Investigators initially thought Grant shot Metzger in a traffic accident, but after some digging, authorities said they thought it might have been violence between two motorcycle clubs.

Investigators said they were considering Grant’s tattoos as part of the evidence. Grant has a 666 tattoo visible on his neck, and he also has a Confederate flag on his arm. They think he might have been a member of the Beast Motorcycle Club. Prosecutors asked the judge if they could take pictures of his tattoos.

“He has tattoos. It’s no different than what I see all the time… a lot of people have tattoos. It’s not unusual for me,” Grant’s lawyer Joe Wells said.

His bail was set at $200,000 and, as part of his terms, he was ordered not to make contact with three local motorcycle clubs. Investigators said they believed Metzger was a member of one of these clubs.
