Investigation underway in Trenton following deadly stabbing
Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are currently conducting an investigation into a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in the city of Trenton on Thursday evening, as reported by Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri. The incident took place on October 19, 2023, at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the vicinity of Cross Street and Kersey Alley.
Upon receiving a call regarding an unresponsive male, officers from the Trenton Police Department promptly responded to the scene. They discovered a male victim lying on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim, identified as Corey Jones, a 40-year-old resident of Trenton, was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the medical facility.
The investigation into this incident is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made thus far. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
