Investigation Launched into Trenton Shooting

Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting an investigation into a shooting incident that took place during the evening hours on Thursday, January 11, 2024, in the Chambersburg area of Trenton, Mercer County. The incident unfolded at approximately 6:50 p.m., prompting the immediate dispatch of emergency services to the vicinity of South Broad Street and Chestnut Avenue, following a distress call reporting a gunshot victim.

Responding to the scene swiftly were Trenton police officers, Trenton Emergency Medical Service personnel, Capital Health System paramedics, and firefighters from Engine 3. Their prompt arrival enabled them to promptly locate the wounded individual. As per reports from the emergency services radio, the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the wounded person was promptly transported via ambulance to the trauma center at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
