Indiana Teen Emily Barger Found Safe 200 Miles From Home, 18 Year Old Arrested

The Indiana teen last seen early Monday morning who was thought to be in “extreme danger” was found safe, officials said, and the man she was with was arrested.

Emily Barger, 14, was discovered late Wednesday in Attica, Indiana, more than three hours north of her Georgetown home, officials said.

The girl was found after police received a report that she was “staying in a barn behind a residential building in Attica,” according to a press release from the police department.

Sean Barger, who identifies on social media as Emily’s father, previously said he thought his daughter was with a man. He wrote on Facebook on Wednesday that the authorities had “caught” the guy.

Police grabbed the man, identified as 18-year-old Terry Ross, as he was walking around Attica. He was charged with complicity in the commission of an offense against a minor.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office said the Attica investigation is ongoing and that the police department will continue to work with local partners regarding possible charges.

Floyd County Deputy Chief Jeff Firkins previously told The Post that Barger had reported his daughter missing and officials said she was last seen around 1 a.m. Monday at her family’s home.

Barger wrote on Facebook earlier this week that on Monday morning he found his daughter’s bed empty, her window smashed and her mobile phone forgotten.
