HPD: Man crashes into train after being shot in southeast Houston

Houston police said the man’s car caught fire after the accident. Luckily, he managed to escape.

HOUSTON. On Wednesday, a man was seriously injured after police said he was hit, lost control of his car and then crashed into a train, where his car caught fire.

Houston police said the shooting took place in southeast Houston on Telean Street near Almeda Genoa Road. Why the shooting happened is unknown.

After being shot at, the man lost control of his car and crashed into a train on Mykawa Road, which is about six minutes from the shooting site, police said. The man’s car caught fire after the accident. Luckily, he managed to escape,” the police said.

He was then taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries, HPD reported.

It is not known if any suspects are in custody in connection with the shooting. Houston police said there was another person in the car with the man held for questioning.
