How to support and celebrate in Houston

HOUSTON – From Houston to Hungary, women around the world come together to celebrate equality and equality on this International Women’s Day. Each year, UN Women announces a theme and the International Women’s Day platform runs a campaign that everyone can participate in.

UN Women dedicated 2023 to “DigitALL: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality”. Which aims to highlight the need for inclusive and transformative technology and digital education for women. On 8 March, the sixty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women will speak on this topic and bring together a panel of high-profile women, including Doreen Bogdan-Martin and Marie Bjerre. As well as 17-year-old inventor, innovator, writer, STEM promoter and UNICEF youth advocate Geetanjali Rao.

This year’s campaign organized by the IWD platform is called #EmbraceEquity. Now more than ever it is important to instill in our rising generation the belief that women can do and be more. Challenging the glass ceiling that is always present for women all over the world. Ensuring that we empower women and other underserved groups while helping innovation and economic development.

Here are ways you can do your part to support and celebrate International Women’s Day.

  • Post your photo on Click2Pins and social media with the hashtag #EmbraceEquity. You can also submit your image to an IWD campaign.
  • Join Greater Houston Partnership: Rise to the Top on March 9th when the women of Houston come together to support and learn about #EmbraceEquity.
  • Donate to a registered charity or non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of women and girls. You can find a list of charities here.
