Death of 71-Year-Old West Windsor Woman Sparks Investigation

West Windsor, NJ – In a disturbing turn of events, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and the West Windsor Police Department have launched an investigation into the death of a 71-year-old woman. The victim, identified as Elaine Murray, was found lifeless in her second-floor bedroom on Galston Drive yesterday evening.

Concerned neighbors prompted the intervention when they conducted a well-being check on Murray, who lived alone. Startled by signs of a break-in, they immediately alerted the authorities. Swift action ensued, as West Windsor police promptly responded to the distress call at approximately 8 p.m. on August 2, 2023.

Upon entering the residence, law enforcement officials were met with a gruesome sight. Murray lay motionless on the bedroom floor, displaying apparent injuries to her face, neck, and head. The discovery sparked an urgent joint inquiry, headed by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the West Windsor Police Department.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the incident, leaving a wave of unease in the tight-knit community. The cause of Murray’s tragic demise remains unknown and is currently pending autopsy.
