Hillcrest’s Pappalecco being replaced by DivoDiva Coffee & Wine.
An all-day bar and restaurant concept named DivoDiva Coffee & Wine is set to replace the 13-year-old Pappalecco café location in San Diego’s Hillcrest. Rosario Monetti, a Naples-born professional opera singer who has moved to San Diego in 2009, has partnered with Victoria Robertson, another opera singer, to bring this Italian-inspired eatery and wine bar to the Hillcrest cafe location that formerly housed a Pappalecco branch.
Monetti, who has sung all around San Diego including at Petco Park performing the National Anthem before a Padres game, also owns Meshuggah Shack in Mission Hill and will soon offer espresso drinks, morning meals, and pastries at DivoDiva Coffee & Wine. In addition, the establishment will turn into a music-themed wine bar and restaurant later in the day.
The cafe, which is anticipated to open by the summer of 2023, will be located at 3650 Fifth Avenue, Suite 104, in Hillcrest’s neighborhood. The DivoDiva food menu offers a wide array of Italian dishes to choose from, and the wine list is set to feature a collection of local and international vintages for patrons to enjoy.
DivoDiva’s opening in Hillcrest adds another layer of gourmet lifestyle options in the San Diego area. It offers an exceptional ambiance to both those seeking a quick caffeine fix or a more upscale wine experience. With its prime location in Hillcrest and its wine bar’s allure, DivoDiva is expected to attract and entice all kinds of customers.
The partnership of Rosario Monetti and Victoria Robertson was an unexpected collaboration that has not only united two different artistic genres but has also introduced a new concept to San Diego’s residents and tourists. DivoDiva Coffee & Wine will serve the city’s café culture and music scene with its variety of Italian-inspired dishes and its excellent selection of local and international wines.
