HFD firefighter charged with possession and delivery of drugs, including methamphetamine

HOUSTON “According to court documents, a Houston firefighter has been charged with drug possession, including methamphetamine.

Edwin Balmore Gutierrez, 31, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

According to the Houston Fire, Gutierrez currently works as an ambulance firefighter with Fire Station 9 and has been with the department for five years.

Court documents showed that Gutierrez also allegedly delivered almost one kilogram of counterfeit Adderall pills and more than 250 grams of Xanax.

Gutierrez is due to appear in court on Monday.

The Houston Fire Department released the following statement:

“The alleged actions of this individual do not reflect the character and values ​​of the nearly 4,000 members of our department. These are serious allegations, and if they are confirmed, this will lead to the dismissal of the firefighter, ”says fire chief Peña.
