Here’s where you can watch the 2022 World Cup in Houston

Bryan Clary has attended soccer matches at three of the last five World Cup tournaments – in Brazil in 2014, South Africa in 2010 and South Korea in 2002.

The co-owner of Houston’s William Price Distilling will not be travelling for his year’s World Cup, which starts Sunday in Qatar, but he’s bringing a taste of the action to his business.

William Price Distilling, 970 Wakefield Dr., is hosting watch parties for many of the 64 matches in the World Cup, which concludes Dec. 18. The distillery plans to televise every match except for most of the ones scheduled to start at 4 a.m., with free watch parties for all the 7 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. games and for every match including the United States, Mexico, England, Argentina and Brazil.

“He’s the big soccer fan. He’ll be here for all of them,” distillery co-owner Zack Hiller said of Clary. “He said he may or may not bring his vuvuzela.”

William Price Distilling is one a few Houston businesses going all out for the World Cup, which is held every four years. This year’s event, which shifted from its traditional summer schedule to the fall, marks the first appearance for the United States since 2014.

Social Beer Garden HXT, 3101 San Jacinto St., announced it will televise every game, with audio in both English and Spanish. The Midtown spot also will host watch parties for all the 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. matches as well as those involving the aforementioned five countries.

Pitch 25 Beer Park, owned by former Houston Dynamo FC star Brian Ching, is hosting what it bills as “Houston’s Biggest World Cup Party & Street Festival” at 2117 Walker St. in East Downtown. The event will kick off at 7 a.m. on World Cup game days and feature nearly 50 screens in 60,000 square feet of viewing space. General admission is free, with VIP experiences available.

The Dynamo and Houston Dash, the city’s men’s and women’s professional teams, respectively, are hosting nine events apiece at Pitch 25, 2120 Walker St., and Karbach Brewing Co., 2032 Karbach St., during the group stage of play. Additional events will follow during the knockout rounds. Watch party attendees can win prizes such as autographed memorabilia, bobbleheads and tote bags.

The clubs also will host Futbol Fiesta Mundial at 10 a.m. Nov. 26 at Houston Sports Park, 12131 Kirby Dr. There will be youth soccer clinics held at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., followed by a showing of the Argentina vs. Mexico match at 1 p.m.

This Canadian-themed watering hole in Midtown is known for showing hockey games and this Sunday will televise the Grey Gup, the championship game in the Canadian Football League. You can watch World Cup futbol there as well.

An English-inspired neighborhood pub with an extensive menu and bar selection, Red Lion is a place to watch the World Cup as well. You can sit outside, too, with fire pits at each patio table.

During the opening match for the United States, scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, customers can get a medium pizza for $9.99 and a complimentary Coors Light.
