October 2, 2022

After more than 20 years under the ownership of the same local family, Del Mar’s Americana restaurant is has been purchased by the team behind San Diego’s popular Harry’s Coffee Shop.

Opened in October 2000 by New York-native, 4th generation restaurateur & chef Randy Gruber and family, Americana restaurant has been a destination in San Diego’s North County community of Del Mar for its revolving menu of American classics. The all-day restaurant, along with sister concept Elixir Juice & Food, has been purchased by a local hospitality group that includes John Rudolph, who owns Harry’s Coffee Shop in La Jolla, Cass Street Bar & Grill in Pacific Beach, The Venetian in Point Loma, and Mike’s Taco Club in Ocean Beach.

Rudolph has confirmed that he intends to operate Americana and Elixir as-is, with little plans to change either concept. Offering indoor and outdoor seating, Americana is located only a short walk from the Pacific Ocean and seats approximately 140 people.

Americana restaurant is open during normal business hours at 1454 Camino Del Mar in San Diego’s North County city of Del Mar. For more information, visit americanarestaurant.com.
