Gunman at Large After Shooting Security Guard at North Star Mall, SAPD Reports

Police have confirmed that two suspects are still at large following a shooting incident at North Star Mall in San Antonio. The incident took place at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, prompting a significant law enforcement response to the shopping center. The security guard, who has not been identified, was shot near the entrance of Macy’s and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. Police focused on rescuing the guard before evacuating the store and initiating their search for the suspects.

According to SAPD Sgt. Bobby Bradley, the incident does not meet the criteria to be considered an active shooter situation. He stated, “We’re pretty sure they left (the mall),” referring to the two suspects, a man and a woman. The mall had closed at 8 p.m. as police were arriving at the scene.

Authorities are currently working to gather information and locate the suspects. As of 9:30 p.m., the suspects were still at large. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
