During the event, DeSantis spoke about many of the political decisions and achievements associated with his administration, and also promoted his new book, The Courage to Be Free.

Notably, in his book, DeSantis touched on an important topic of the struggle between government officials and the Walt Disney Company over the law on parental rights in education that was signed last year.

“The problem we’re facing, and it’s a threat to our way of life and our freedoms, is an awakened ideology,” DeSantis said during the speech. “Woke is a form of cultural Marxism. He is trying to get us to indulge in things that are not true. They want you to believe that men can get pregnant. They want you to believe that children are born racist.”

The Governor also spoke about other political successes he has made in Florida, including easing restrictions on the COVID-19 pandemic, hurricane response efforts, and fighting against DEI’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies in the state.
