Good Samaritans recognized by city officials for stopping shooter and saving woman’s life

The City of Austin has awarded two Good Samaritans for saving a woman’s life during a shooting in northwest Austin.

Armando Zamora and Stephen Giovinazzo received the Distinguished Service Award.

Back in November, two men took on a shooter at a bar in northwest Austin. The militant tried to shoot his ex-girlfriend, who was at work.

The clients grabbed the shooter and seized the gun, holding him until the police arrived.

Zamora said the APD responded quickly to the shooting and made the highly traumatic experience much less painful.
