Giants Superfan Plans to Survive After Eagles Brawl in Philadelphia

Philadelphia is fanatical.

This is the city where a crazed bird patron once stole a Vietnamese veteran’s prosthetic leg, Eagles fans booed Santa Claus, and a referee presided over a stadium courtroom.

But that doesn’t deter legendary Rockland County Big Blue fan Joe Rubak, who will be among the 67,000 crazy people in the stands at Saturday’s Giants-Eagles game at Lincoln Financial Field.

Rubak, 53, also known as “The License Plate Guy,” has been attending Giants home games for 45 years, and home and away games since 2000.

“Philadelphia is by far the worst,” he said of the rebellious fans. – It’s a different animal.

Here are the 5ft 9in, 190lb grunt survival rules for Nu Jawkas about to invade the city of brotherly love:

“Never be late! If you go to Philadelphia and you have stickers [on your car] … or even a New York plate, you know you’ve been spoiled.”

Rubak is going to a big game with 44-year-old Danny Parisi from New Jersey. They’ll arrive “terrifyingly early” and find cash parking.

The dynamic duo and two other Big Blue buddies shelled out $3,500 apiece—yes, $14,000 total—for four front-row tickets behind the Giants’ side bench.

“There is a big difference between sitting low or sitting high. I tell Giants fans that if you sit high it can take 10 minutes to get help,” he said.

Last but not least, take the insults lightly.

“They don’t like me in Philadelphia. But I shouldn’t be. I take on all the hatred,” Rubak boasted. “You must have thick skin. You can catch some shit in every NFL stadium. In Philadelphia, it’s only ten times that.
