Gerard Butler buckles up for action thriller ‘Airplane’

Action, thrill and lots of Gerard Butler. The latest movie hitting the big screen will make you nervous.

Gerard takes to the skies as a pilot in his new movie Airplane, but an ordinary day in the sky quickly turns into a fight for survival.

Gerard Butler (as Brody Torrance): “Looks like we’re making our way through the storm.”

When his scheduled flight makes an emergency landing, it’s up to Captain Brodie Torrance to find him to make sure everyone makes it back safe and sound.

Gerard Butler (as Brody Torrance): “I’m going to need your help.”

Mike Colter (as Louis Gaspard): “You’ll need it.”

Even teaming up with a convicted murderer!

The film stars Gerard Butler as Brody Torrance.

Gerard Butler (as Brody Torrance): “I have a daughter and I really want to go home.”

Gerard Butler: “He’s a really decent person; he may be your next door neighbor. There is nothing particularly special about it. He’s strong, he’s tough, he cares, but nothing prepares him for what they’re about to step into.”

Little does Brody know that accused murderer Louis Gaspare, played by Mike Colter, is unlikely to be an ally in the fight to save his passengers.

Mike Colter (as Louis Gaspard): “The cops in the Legion said that redemption can only be found in the most unusual places.”

Gerard Butler: “I feel like this relationship is at the core of this movie, this pilot and this accused killer, who have to rely on each other out of necessity, and they go on this journey together and sort of learn from each other.”

Gerard had to come up with some action moves for the fight scenes, but the real challenge was how to fly the airliner.

Gerard Butler: “I flew the simulator for many hours, and then hung out in that cockpit, which was a mockup, but so real. He was on a gimbal, so he threw us all over the place, so we learned not only to fly, but to learn to fly in extreme conditions.”

Gerard Butler (as Brodie Torrance): “The seat belt signs just turned on.”

Yoson Ahn (as Dele): “We just lost an engine.”

He’s doing so well with all that sim training that we had to ask if he’d ever want to be a real pilot, for example, really?

Gerard Butler: “I think one day I’d like to be a pilot.”

Gerard Butler (as Brodie Torrance): “We’re leaving this island.”

The Airplane landed in theaters across the country.
