FWC investigates endangered bird strike and death on Marco Island

MARCO Island, Florida. Fisheries and wildlife Florida is investigating after endangered birds swooped in and died.

It happened in the beach area in front of 400 S. Collier Boulevard around 13:20 on Monday.

Marco Island police officers say they answered a call about a Marriott employee recklessly driving a golf cart on a beach that deliberately ran over and killed five endangered black skimmers.

The Marco Island Police Department will assist the FWC as needed.
