Four forgotten friends are still looking for someone to love them | forgotten friends

We have made great strides in finding homes for our Forgotten Friends, but these four remain in shelters.

SAN ANTONIO – Our Forgotten Friends series tells each week about a dog or cat that has spent a long time at the local shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

Back in December, we shared with you our Tails of Success and informed you about all the Forgotten Friends we helped find in loving families.

Now we want to inform you about those that are still waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home.

Brody is a nearly 6 year old Catahoula mix who has been returned to the Bulverde Area Humane Society twice in the last three years, and through no fault of his own!

The first time he was adopted, the owner decided to sell his house and move in with his daughter, who already had five cats. Brody doesn’t like cats at all! So it wasn’t easy for Brody. He went back to the shelter.

The second owner lost his job and could not take care of him after that. So Brody is back at the hideout again.

Brody is such a good boy! He knows how to sit and shake and other basic commands. He is very smart and also steals into the house.

“He loves to go out and hang out with his people,” said Penny, a volunteer in charge of dogs at the Bulverde Animal Welfare Society. “He’s also just as happy to watch Breaking Bad with you.”

He knows the basic commands and steals into the house.

Like most dogs, Brody is afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks.

Patch, an adorable 6-year-old bulldog-terrier mix, is waiting for someone he loves at God’s Dogs Rescue in Font Ormey.

This is a medium to large sized dog weighing almost 60 pounds.

“I have half my face white and the rest a black patchwork quilt, but it makes me look like The Phantom of the Opera – complete with COOL music,” Patches said.

He is very smart, plays well with other dogs and loves children. One of his favorite activities is playing with a sprinkler or garden hose.

Patches will do well in an active family. He likes to walk along the river and also likes to ride in cars. He just jumps in and sits in the passenger seat, thinking he’s the co-pilot.

The adoption fee is $200 in Texas and $400 if you are out of state. This fee will include transportation to your area.

Percy is a little over a year old Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Terrier cross, a gentle giant who loves everyone…even cats. She has now spent over a year, her entire life, waiting for someone to notice and accept her into a loving home.

“She is always happy, playing and fooling around,” said Karen. “She has a lot of kisses and hugs to give her potential family.”

Would you like to take Percy home with you?

Send a message to Texas Round Up Animal Alliance with any questions and they will get back to you as soon as possible.

The Exxon, also known as the Exy, is a medium-sized Rottweiler mix, an elderly gentleman who was brought to the Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society (CLASS) just over 11 months ago. At first we thought we had found a home for him when someone came to the shelter the same day they saw his story on the air. But when she took Axie to be sterilized, it turned out that he had heartworm, and she changed her mind. CLASS took him out of the vet’s office and he’s waiting again for someone to love him… unconditionally.

He was found with an injured back leg at an Exxon gas station, hence the name Exxie. He is very affectionate and walks well on a leash. In fact, he loves when someone takes him for a walk. And people make him happy by making him jump and dance when he sees people for the first time every morning.

He is box-trained and stolen into the house. And he loves to eat!

Axie gets along great with other dogs, but you need to bring your own to make sure they get along before getting her. He never barks at any of the other dogs at the shelter.

And believe it or not, Axie loves cats.

It only takes one person who sees these dogs and decides they are perfect for their family to change their lives.
