Four ejected in Martin County plane crash and taken to hospital

MARTIN COUNTY, Florida — Four people have been found lying on a Martin County driveway after an overnight crash that left them seriously injured, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said in a Facebook post that the Tesla and another vehicle collided around midnight on Dixie Freeway and Savannah Road.

The blow was so strong that all four were thrown out of the cars, and they ended up on the roadway when the deputies arrived.

Deputies said the engine of one of the cars landed about 50 yards from the crash site.

The three injured were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The fourth victim was taken by helicopter to the nearest emergency room.

Although the victims were seriously injured, all of them are expected to survive, deputies said.

A preliminary investigation by deputies showed that the cause of the accident was speeding.

“This is the third such horrific high-speed crash that has occurred on our roads in recent weeks,” Facebook said in a post.
