Fort Worth police arrest fourth suspect in Chin Shin murder

FORT WORTH (CBSNewsTexas.com) – Fort Worth police have made a fourth arrest in connection with the August 15, 2022 murder of Chin Shin, who was fatally injured in a traffic accident.

Keaton Sheppard was arrested and charged with murder on February 21, 2023. According to Tarrant County, Sheppard is also charged with illegal possession of a firearm by a criminal and drunk driving. His bail is set at $106,000.

Around 2:41 a.m. on August 15, the Fort Worth police received calls that several people were “beating up” Sheen. According to the police, gunshots were heard during these telephone conversations.

Marquinn West, who was arrested and charged with murder in September, was seen on video footage of Shin shooting several times. Sheen was found at the scene by the police, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Sheppard’s arrest warrant issued on December 15, 2022, he claimed that he did not hit Sheen and did not see anyone hit Sheen. He also claimed that he was not present at the time of the shooting. He went on to say that he left “before things got unstable.”

The warrant states that Sheppard and Kwamon White, who were arrested on January 1, 2023, were seen beating Sheen.

Sheppard’s claims are contradicted by evidence that showed he was present during the attacks and murder, making him the main aggressor, the warrant says.

Started by Shin’s family to pay for funeral expenses and support his 14-year-old daughter, GoFundMe has since raised over $100,000.
