Former NFL player takes safety to a whole new level

COLLIER COUNTY, Florida. The North Collier Fire District has a few more Super Bowl connections this year than many residents.

Nate Allen played defensive end in the NFL for over eight years. One of these teams includes the Philidelphia Eagles. Now his career is taking security to a whole new level.

Allen is now a firefighter in Collier County, and his probationary period is coming to an end.

Today, as his former team plays in the Super Bowl, Allen dons his best uniform to date and urges residents to stay safe and responsible during today’s big game.
