Former employees share their experience with Christal Clear Designs; some say they received death threats

HOUSTON “For the first time, former employees of renowned design firm Christal Clear Designs are sharing their stories.

“It took me a lot of courage to make this decision,” said Kendra Perez.

“It was very disappointing. I didn’t know that I would be working in a fraudulent business,” said another former employee, who requested anonymity.

The two former workers preferred to remain anonymous.

“I receive death threats from the owners themselves, as well as their family members. I constantly heard that I was accused of stealing clients and all the money, so I am here to get justice for these clients, ”said the former client.

Five victims have already spoken out after paying the company thousands of dollars for unfinished work.

Kendra Perez ran the business for nearly five years.

“At first it was just amazing. It was a lot of fun,” Perez said.

Perez said everything changed in February last year, when projects weren’t being completed and clients, as well as suppliers and contractors, were asking for orders.

“I had to leave the company to get better. It got to the point where my mental health really took a toll on me because I loved my job. I loved it so much,” she said.

One former worker thinks the owners, Jessie and Octavia Cristal, have taken on too many clients.

“There was a time when we were dealing with 15-18 clients at the same time,” said a former employee.

Former employees also said that their wages were delayed and they were receiving calls from debt collectors.

“For the first two weeks I worked in an office, we were locked up and working in the dark because the power went out,” the former employee said.

“We were told to pay business expenses in our personal name. I still have a $2,000 balance in my name that I have to pay and it will go towards my loan,” said another former employee.

The company removed its Web siteand they didn’t post anything on their Instagram pagewhich has 130,000 subscribers since February 2022.

“People just want answers,” Perez said.

Former employees have filed reports with the Houston Police Department, which is investigating the threats.

KPRC 2 contacted the Attorney General’s Office. And the owners, Jessie and Octavia Cristal, did not respond to messages, calls or emails.
