Former Cy Ranch High School baseball player died in a car accident in East Texas.

Micah Macafooze, who went to high school at Cy Ranch, was killed and Greylan Spring was injured in an accident on Friday.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas. Last week, two students at Stephen F. Austin State University were involved in a fatal crash in East Texas.

The school said Micah Macafooze and Graylan Spring were involved in an accident north of Corrigan on Friday afternoon. According to SFA head football coach Colby Kartelan 18-wheeler was involved in the accident.

It is unclear what happened, but Macafooze was killed and Spring was taken to a hospital in the Houston area in critical condition.

“Micah was formerly a member of the SFA baseball team and Greylan was a member of the SFA football team,” the SFA said in a statement. “Our entire community is deeply saddened by Micah’s death and Greylan’s injuries. Counselors are available for students.

The GoFundMe page was created to help the McAfuza family with expenses, and the university provides advisory assistance to anyone who needs it.

According to the Cy Ranch baseball team’s Facebook page, Macafooze will be coming home for the weekend. He played baseball in high school and graduated in 2022. He also wore number 22.

“Many of you know his parents, especially his mom, sitting in the bleachers in her waffle shirt because Mika gets a waffle house if she wins a home run,” the page said in a post. “Everyone knows what kind of person Mika was. He was literally a light and a joy to many, a comedian to many, a confidant to many, a friend to EVERYONE. He was a brother, cousin, teammate, student and above all a son who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”

SFA Interim President Dr. Steve Westbrook ordered that the school flag at the entrance to campus be flown at half-staff in McAfoose’s honor.
