Former Citgo executive, 3-year-old son found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Florida

José Manuel González Testino pleaded guilty to federal bribery and money laundering charges in Houston two years ago.

A former Citgo executive who pleaded guilty to federal bribery and money laundering has been found dead in his luxury Miami area apartment along with his 3-year-old son.

The police identified him as José Manuel González Testino. They suspect it was an apparent murder-suicide.

“They’re trying to determine what made him take his own life,” Miami Police Officer Mike Vega said. “And more than that, what made him take the life of his 3-year-old child, who is an innocent child.”

Testino pleaded guilty to federal charges in Houston two years ago. He was due to be sentenced on these charges this month.

Police said Testino was divorced and his son lived with his mother. The boy has been living with him since Monday.
