FMPD still searching for answers to 80-year-old man’s disappearance

FORT MYERS, Florida — Fort Myers Police Homicide detectives took to the streets Friday to resume the search for an 80-year-old man who has been missing since 2020.

Porter Albert, 80, was officially reported missing on January 21, 2020 after he was last seen at large lots located on North Cleveland Avenue.

Since his disappearance, FMPD homicide detectives have been ruthlessly talking to people and putting up flyers in the hope that someone can give them answers to questions about the disappearance of the 80-year-old man.

Lead Detective Vincent Doyle said the woman at the center of the investigation is Tiffany Contestabile.

After nearly three years of searching, Detective Doyle discovered that Contestabile now lives in Arkansas, in a small town north of Little Rock, and changed her name.

A few days after Albert was last seen, the Cape Coral police stopped Contestabile. The police arrested her for driving without a license and later released her. She told the police that she was looking for Albert.

“Which ensured that the investigation was carried out like a murder from day one,” Detective Doyle said.

Because no one is in custody and nearly three years later, FMPD homicide detectives are still working and have said they won’t stop until the case is closed.

“To keep living, especially for his son Brian, who wonders what happened to his father, I can’t imagine I’ve never been through, but I think it’s very painful,” Detective Doyle said. “I spoke to them recently this week and they are still concerned and want to know if the community can still help.

If you have any information on this case, you will be asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS where you will remain anonymous.
