Florida man arrested for battery after hitting woman’s head on car window and pavement

KEY WEST, Florida. (WSVN) — A Key West man was arrested Wednesday after he hit a woman’s head on a car window and sidewalk.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call at Mile Marker 40 around 6:50 pm regarding the battery situation. The deputies arrived at the southern end of the Seven Mile Bridge to find a victim.

The 46-year-old victim told police that Terry Sean Milligan, 54, had been drinking all day and sleeping in the front passenger seat of their vehicle.

According to the press release, the victim got out of the car to walk his dog when Milligan was woken up by the sound of the car door, which infuriated him. Then he grabbed the victim by the hair and began to beat her head on the car door and windshield, causing it to break.

The victim told authorities that as she got out of the car to seek help, Milligan grabbed her by the hair, causing her to fall. Then he began to hit her head on the pavement.

The victim managed to escape and lock himself in the car. Milligan fled the scene on foot.

A witness parked nearby called 911 and confirmed the victim’s story. The woman’s injuries also confirmed her words. The victim refused hospitalization.

Milligan was found hiding nearby and taken into custody. He was charged with aggravated battery and property damage.
