Florida Man Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Joyful Stick Figure Sculpture

A Martin County man was apprehended by the Stuart police on Tuesday night, following reports of suspicious behavior and his peculiar transportation of a substantial piece of artwork. The incident, as detailed in an online post by the department, occurred along the 1100 block of US-1. Upon arrival, officers swiftly took Joshua Roach into custody.

The police were initially alerted to Roach’s activities by a concerned woman who observed him walking with what appeared to be two sizable poles. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that these poles were, in fact, integral components of a recently pilfered artwork from a local Stuart business. Striking images of the artwork depict a vibrant red stick figure adorned with a joyous countenance.

“Joshua Roach, a repeat offender with a history of thefts and burglaries, confessed to pilfering the artwork from behind a nearby establishment simply because he found it appealing,” divulged the officers involved. “Additionally, Mr. Roach possessed an Ohio warrant, albeit nonextraditable.”

Roach was promptly transported to the Martin County Jail, where he now faces charges related to the theft. Notably, the police opted to prominently exhibit the recovered artwork on the front of their patrol vehicle during its journey back to the station, a symbolic gesture signaling its imminent return to its rightful place of origin.
