Florida Highway Patrol investigates fatal crash in Fort Myers

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident in Fort Myers last night. The accident occurred at the intersection of Imperial Parkway and Coconut Road.

A 23-year-old man was riding a motorcycle down Imperial Parkway South as he approached an intersection, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

At the same time, the 61-year-old man was driving a sedan down Imperial Parkway North towards the intersection. FHP says the sedan attempted to turn left at an intersection, causing it to collide with the motorcycle on the side.

At the time of the accident, a 23-year-old man was torn off his motorcycle. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
