Flight from Phoenix to Hawaii diverted to Los Angeles

PHOENIX – American Airlines officials say one of their Phoenix flights has been diverted to Los Angeles International Airport.

Flight 692, en route to Honolulu from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, had to be diverted to Los Angeles due to a mess in the cabin related to a naughty passenger, according to the airline. Airline officials did not provide further details about the nature of the unrest.

“We thank our team for their professionalism and our customers for their understanding,” the statement said.

In a separate statement, Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport officials say Flight 692 was diverted to Los Angeles but referred all other requests to American Airlines.

The American Airlines website states that the flight was operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The flight is now expected to arrive in Honolulu around 11:33 pm after departing Los Angeles around 7:00 pm.

According to the American Airlines website, Flight 692 took off from Sky Harbor around 11:14 p.m.
