Fire brigades were called to numerous wildfires in Collier, Sarasota, Charlotte, Hendry and Lee counties.

NORTH PORT
Fire and rescue teams and North Port Police units are responding to a major wildfire near Toledo Blade and Price boulevards. Drivers should avoid driving the Toledo Blade between Price and Interstate 75 for the time being.

The Florida Highway Patrol sent out a press release about the fire – FHP is monitoring the fire in the I-75 and Toledo Blade area. State enforcers are closing entry and exit to Toledo Blade (exit 179).

The following facilities are being evacuated as a precautionary measure:

GOLDEN GATE ESTATES – NORTH COLLIER
Deputies evacuate residents at 18th Avenue NW and Jung Blvd. in Golden Gate Estates due to a growing wildfire in the area. Wilson Boulevard. closed between 24th Ave NE and 47th Ave NE due to fire. Monitor CCSO social media accounts for further evacuations and road closures.

If possible, avoid driving in Northeast Collier County while first responders put out the wildfire. Several roads are closed to traffic. See earlier posts.

IMMOCALIE – COLLIER COUNTY
Wilson Boulevard and Young Boulevard.

Soldiers block Immokalee Road westbound on Everglades Boulevard. Streets evacuated due to wildfire: Young Boulevard, 16th Ave NW, 18th Ave NW, 20th Ave NW, 22nd Ave NW, and 24th Ave NW avenue to the northwest. Immokalee Road is closed from Woodcrest Drive to Randall Boulevard. Wilson Boulevard is closed between 24th Avenue in the northwest and 47th Avenue in the northeast.
