Fire at Central Park South hotel sparks major FDNY response

A fire in a kitchen at a hotel in Central Park South sparked a violent response from the FDNY early Friday, with more than 100 firefighters and paramedics arriving on the scene overnight.

No one was hurt in the fire at New York’s Park Lane Hotel, which started in the kitchen on the second floor and spread to the third and fourth floors through air ducts, officials said.

Firefighters brought the fire under control by about 4:15 am, less than two hours after receiving the first call.

There were no other details immediately.
