Fiend knocks elderly woman unconscious, steals her backpack in NYC subway attack

A violent crook socked a 67-year-old woman unconscious in a Queens subway station — then swiped her backpack as she lay on the ground, cops said Sunday as they released surveillance video of the suspect.

Investigators believe that the victim was “punched in the head and knocked out” at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 7 inside the Queens Boulevard and Grand Avenue subway station in Elmhurst, a police spokesman said.

The brute then stole her purple and white backpack, which contained her credit cards, personal identification and house keys.

The woman suffered bruising and swelling to the left side of her face and was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital in Forest Hills in stable condition, according to cops.

The crook tried to use the victim’s credit card the next morning at Jumbo’s Hamburger Place at 274 W. 145th St. in Harlem, but the charge of $10.62 was declined, police said.

The attacker ended up getting a meal another way and ate at the Manhattan restaurant before walking north on Fredrick Douglass Boulevard, according to cops. Police released surveillance video and photos of him from the subway station and the eatery.

He was last seen wearing a blue baseball hat with “BROOKLYN” on the front, a blue face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and carrying the victim’s backpack.
