FHP: Oncoming driver injured in crash on US 41

LEE COUNTY, Florida. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash on US 41 on Monday morning.

Soldiers say it happened at US 41-Business and North Shore Avenue, near the Edison Bridge in North Fort Myers just before 2:00 am.

FHP says the 43-year-old driver was driving the wrong way when he crashed into a pickup truck.

He was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital, the driver of the pickup was not injured.

Investigators say the accident is being investigated for drunk driving and charges are pending.
