Few arrests made after authorities responded to reports of a potential race taking place in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, Texas – A police chase that started in Fort Worth and continued into the Dallas area eventually resulted in three arrests being made.

The incident reportedly started at about 11:15 on Saturday when Fort Worth police received a report about a potential race taking place in Fort Worth. As soon as officers came to the scene, the crowd started separating and leaving the area. The efforts of the responding officers to stop one vehicle were unsuccessful and they canceled the chase as the driver managed to evade and continue driving in a residential area.

Shortly after, another officer with the Fort Worth Police Department noticed the suspect vehicle driving at an excessive rate of speed near Highway 183 and started another chase.

The suspect vehicle entered Dallas and crashed near Gibbs Williams Circle. Three occupants abandoned the vehicle following the crash and tried to flee on foot, but were soon arrested by officers.

The three individuals, Dathan Straw, 18, Xavier Fisher, 18, and Trequan Busby, 18, have been taken into custody and charged with evading arrest and detention.
