Federal Judge Postpones Doctors’ Speech on New California COVID Law

SAN DIEGO (CUSI) – A federal judge has suspended a new California law aimed at combating misinformation spread by doctors about COVID-19 and the masks and vaccines public health officials are calling for to protect against it, in what critics have called a crackdown on free speech and professional judgment.

The legislation was signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom and supported by a large majority of elected Democrats across the state.

Obviously, many doctors have problems with the law, as the government does not have the power to impose medical practice.

Dr. Kelly Victory joined Kusi’s Jason Austell on Good Morning San Diego to explain why it’s important for doctors to hold different views.
