Fatal Crash Under Investigation in South Brunswick: Three Killed, School Bus Involved
South Brunswick, NJ – Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Raymond Hayducka of the South Brunswick Police Department have announced an ongoing investigation into a fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of Route 130 and Stults Road. The incident took place on January 31, 2024, at approximately 5:25 P.M.
Upon receiving a report of a crash, authorities promptly arrived at the scene to find a 2011 Toyota Camry and a school bus involved in a collision. The Toyota Camry, occupied by Ellen Brotman, 86, Alba Olivencia, 87, and Wilson Olivencia, 90, all residents of Monroe Township, sustained serious damage. Tragically, all three occupants of the Camry succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The school bus driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Princeton Medical Center for treatment. Fortunately, the two children on the bus, aged 17 and 15, escaped the incident unharmed and were safely reunited with their parents.
Preliminary findings from an investigation conducted by Patrolman First Class Jesse Blake of the South Brunswick Police Department and Detective Matthew Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office suggest that the Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left turn from Route 130 South onto Stults Road when it collided with the school bus traveling on Route 130 North.
The investigation into this tragic incident is actively ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
